Mmmmm, Antonio!
Oct. 20th, 2005 02:36 pmThis just brings great joy and giggles to my heart: as per the recommendation of
risu, I shall now, here and ever after, think of our former Republican House Majority Leader as Tom 'Happy Felon' DeLay. It does warm the soul to know he's so perky about our judicial process, doesn't it?
On the closer-to-home front, so far today's recruiter call count is at two. One from a gent at a local agency who found my resume via Dice and who was moved enough to use my web page form to contact me. This caused me some consternation as it came through with a mangled email address, so I couldn't reply to it. Fortunately, however, he actually called me shortly thereafter and we were able to chat about the position he had available. He's promised to send my resume on over, as despite my lack of "advanced experience with Perl or Python", apparently the rest of my resume is strong enough that he thinks I have a shot. So we'll see what happens with that.
Yet another Volt recruiter has also called, though her call turned out to be another verse of the "I'm Sorry, I'm On My 100 Day Break From Microsoft" song. Doh. Her position sounded interesting, too--writing Javascript automation for the IE team. She promised to check back with me later as we get in closer to the end of my 100 days, anyway.
Tonight: thanks to the lovely and talented
mamishka, I get to go see a sneak preview of The Legend of Zorro. Mmmmm, Antonio! THANK YOU, MIMI! :) :) :)
And I have determined that I should make it to Rivendell by the end of next week, too, which'll be cool. That'll put me well on the way to Lothlórien by the end of the year! (Today's numbers are not yet complete--I've only actually done 2.45 of the tally so far. But the rest will come in when I walk down the hill to catch the bus to go meet Meems downtown, and then walk to the theater. So I'm going to go ahead and put the projected tally now.)
Wednesday miles: 3.15 (treadmill + walking) (projected)
Miles out of Hobbiton: 429.45
Miles to Rivendell: 28.55
