Let's just say this is one of those days that makes me suspect I'm still under-dosing the synthroid, because it was one of those days when I kind of feel like I got way too irritable. Meh. It doesn't help that I haven't gotten any word back on the other two phone interviews, and especially in the case of Friday's, I'm suspecting that this means I won't--because if there had been any real interest, surely I'd have been told by now. Sigh.

And I've been reading the reports about Wilma being the "most intense hurricane on record." Goody! Just what we need to round out this year's hurricane season, in an "OW YES PLEASE MAY I HAVE ANOTHER?!" sort of way!

And I've been reading here and there about the quake in Pakistan, too. I saw [livejournal.com profile] shadowhwk post a few days back about being surprised that so few people had been posting about that, and wondering why. I think that at least in my case she hit on the reason--disaster burnout, in a sense. So many devastating things have been smacking various parts of the world upside the head over the past year that I for one really am rather reeling.

On the other hand, on a better note, I have to admit to being fascinated by the potential train wreck rolling over the administration, between Karl Rove getting looked at so heavily by the grand jury, Tom DeLay about to be ARRESTED, and one member of the Senate committee in charge of Harriet Miers' confirmation saying her answers to their questions so far have ranged from "incomplete" to "insulting". And let's not even think too hard yet about the rumors going around that Cheney might resign and get replaced by Condi Rice. (I know those rumors are wildly unsubstantiated--but it's just fascinating to me that the rumors exist in the first place, just as a measure of the mood in Washington right now.)

Also, I see [livejournal.com profile] kohaku1977 peeking in, so hiya!
