More Rivendell

Now that spazzkat has moved in with us at MurkNorth, I'm suddenly now going to be commuting with him to work. This means I'll lose my usual mile to and from the bus stop--which means in turn that I'm going to have to be treadmilling more aggressively to make up for it. Especially since I wound up not using the exercise room at Writer's Weekend. So my tallies are going to look weird fairly regularly.

I'm thinking of alternating my weights with the treadmill, which will also make the tallies look weird sometimes. I'll take the few fragments of miles I'll get off using the treadmill for warmup and cooldown with weights workouts--but they'll be teeny! Unfortunately I can't exactly Lift Weights to Rivendell, though it is amusing to consider converting the energy expended by lifting free weights into the energy expended if I were walking.

At least, it would be if I had the physics/math mojo. ;)

Tonight I was aiming for 1.25 miles, but quit early when solarbird came to tell me that dinner was on the table.

In happier Russell news...

My world just tilted in an absurdly delightful way. Word comes in off the GBS board I hang out on (which has just changed its name from the fairly cool Online Kitchen Party--Kenora to The Fishtank, but hey) that Russell Crowe has headed to St. John's along with Alan Doyle. And apparently, tonight they played music together at a local pub.

avalonmissy was there, reports that she enjoyed herself immensely, and has posted PICTURES. I especially like this one:

That there is The Doyle with one of his usual gig shirts on--and it is delightfully weird, weird, WEIRD to see him on the same stage with Russell effin' Crowe! I mean, I've already seen the pictures (and Alan's little video snippet) that came out of the making of My Hand, My Heart, but this is different somehow. This is Alan and Russell making music in public.

Which means maybe, just maybe, they'll do it AGAIN. Now if they'll only do it somewhere I can actually get to...
