In happier Russell news...

My world just tilted in an absurdly delightful way. Word comes in off the GBS board I hang out on (which has just changed its name from the fairly cool Online Kitchen Party--Kenora to The Fishtank, but hey) that Russell Crowe has headed to St. John's along with Alan Doyle. And apparently, tonight they played music together at a local pub.

avalonmissy was there, reports that she enjoyed herself immensely, and has posted PICTURES. I especially like this one:

That there is The Doyle with one of his usual gig shirts on--and it is delightfully weird, weird, WEIRD to see him on the same stage with Russell effin' Crowe! I mean, I've already seen the pictures (and Alan's little video snippet) that came out of the making of My Hand, My Heart, but this is different somehow. This is Alan and Russell making music in public.

Which means maybe, just maybe, they'll do it AGAIN. Now if they'll only do it somewhere I can actually get to...

I really need an icon for these squee-flavored sorts of posts!

The ones in St. John's are especially on top of things, indeed! That's GBS's home turf, so they're sharp to keep an eye on what the B'ys are doing. :)

I actually got Official Word of the show from Bob in a thoughtful email this afternoon. Otherwise I would've missed the whole thing. Luv Bob right now. Yay for nice web clients.

They look so happy together. Maybe Alan will rub off some of his good-natured charm on Russell and make him a nicer mellower guy. :)

From everything I've been hearing, these boys have glommed onto one another with an amazing amount of strength--they can't stop saying nice things about each other's musical ability, and now they're travelling all over the place together, and yeah, all the pictures I'm seeing are showing them clearly happy to be in one another's company!

And heh, yeah--I expect that extended time in Alan's company can't help but mellow out a guy! Alan's imprint all over My Hand, My Heart is certainly palpable; it's the best damned thing I've heard Russell do yet.
