So I made myself get on the treadmill again this morning, first thing. I've had some upward variation of weight the last couple of days--and while, as demonstrated in earlier LJ posts, I am intellectually aware that weight can fluctuate upward or downward by a pound across days, it nevertheless annoys me.

I'm hoping that by having exercised in the morning I'll give my metabolism a better kick in the head today. There will be walking later to Lake Forest Park Town Centre as well, and that'll be an extra mile on the Walk to Rivendell.

I have now crossed The Water and am closing in on Tookland. Slightly bigger hobbits.

[livejournal.com profile] solarbird and I went down the hill this afternoon to a neighbor's house, where they were giving away free plants, and where they had a large, beat-up wooden chest that Dara wanted for garden stuff in the garage. That was kind of fun, just because a couple of nice Asian (possibly Chinese, though we're not sure) folks were the ones who lived there and it was pleasant to chat with them. They offered to help us get the chest back up to our house, which was awfully nice of them--though we had this crazy idea that we'd be able to just carry the thing back up the hill to our house. The chest was quite light. But then we put PLANTS in it, and more importantly, two large containers full of dirt.

This made the chest considerably heavier. And harder to push. It had rusty wheels on the bottom, which we thought would mean that we could just push it up the hill to our house, but the wheels screeched along the asphalt. And even left marks.

Dara finally went back for the truck while I paced in circles around the chest on the corner.

After we got it home, we went down to Lake Forest Park Town Centre for assorted small errands. And we ate BBQ at the new place in the food court down there, and while it wasn't spectacular, it also didn't suck. So yay! We got stuff deposited at the bank, we got suet for hungry birdies, and we got breakfast bars for Anna and kitty treats for the cat. And ice cream at Baskin Robbins. Mmmmm ice cream.
