A good portion of my and
solarbird's stuff is now at Murkworks North. We have been spending much of the last few days doing runs back and forth between the houses, using both our car and Dara's truck, carrying over box after box and many shelves at this point as well.
spazzkat and
mamishka both helped transport stuff today, even; we bought them lunch. :)
We now have books on shelves in what's going to become a library/office, and have a phone active at the new place now as well. At Murkworks South, we're getting down to the point of mostly just needing to move the furniture, some random fiddly bits we'll be able to toss in random boxes, the entertainment center devices, and the servers. The servers will probably be last; as Dara and Paul both remarked this evening, "home is where the Net is". ;)
That said, we're probably going to shoot for having ME over there immediately after the surgery, so that I can recover there rather than here at Murkworks South. That'll just make life easier on post-surgery me all around.
I'm really, really grooving on being able to sit in the living room there with the double doors out to the deck open, and have a breeze blowing into the living room--and hear NOTHING. No traffic. No noisy next door neighbors. No rowdy parties. Mmmmmmm. I'm greatly looking forward to parking out there on some sort of deck couch with my handheld or my laptop, composing prose.
Today, I also moved over my instruments--and just before we came back here to Murk South for the evening, I broke out my guitar and played it a bit. Murk North has now had me make music in it. It's starting to feel more like home.
