The writing report

Some more reformatting work done today as I went over the Prelude and Chapter 1 of LD and put them into manuscript form; I figured I'd do well to just get used to writing in that sort of format so that I wouldn't have to worry as much about formatting stuff properly later. Also sent around the FB combined file to cafiorello and princessheacock, and fixed up my working drafts folder.

Writing time got somewhat truncated today as solarbird and I went out to look at houses, but I did in fact get both Real and Fanfic writing done this evening.

A potentially interesting house; words for this evening

More work on Lament of the Dove this evening, once solarbird and I got back from looking at a potentially very interesting house in Kenmore.

(This seeing went a lot better than Sunday; for one thing, the agent actually SHOWED UP. For another, she was very amiable and friendly, and chatted with us about herself and her experiences with the neighborhood; she lives a scant five blocks away from the house she was showing us. For a third, there's a lot about the house that both Dara and I find interesting, for all that it has a couple of big things that would need major rework attention before we moved in. I'm really grooving on how the house is laid out in multiple levels; it's got like five different levels, if you count the mini-basement. And it's got some nice views of Lake Washington, since it's up high on a hill in Kenmore. Distinct street noise coming up from 522, but not enough to really be annoying, and the house is nice and quiet inside. But we'll see where it goes. The owner, from what the agent was telling us, was very open to making any needed repairs.) ( Writing geeking, behind the cut )
