Tonight's word count report

It took me a very long time today, but I made up the words lost the last couple of days and have just barely eked over the miminum required to stay on track as of this writing! I needed 38,341 words today and I just hit 38,425. I'm probably about two thirds of the way through Chapter 11, and am happy to get in a bit more character development as well as throwing out the next salvo from the parties doing their damndest to make my heroine's life difficult!

Kudos go to solarbird for giving me a name for Rachel's place of employment. I knew I was going to have to come up with one eventually, and a name for her NPC boss, too. Stupid NPCs needing names. ;)

Tomorrow: 40K OR BUST! But for now, bed bed beddy bed beddity bed. Zzzzzzzzz.

Master and Commander soundtrack: almost as swoonable as the movie!

I was pretty much dead sure I was going to want this soundtrack, and I was right. There is a whole lot of lovely violin and cello work all over it, and a bunch of thundering percussion as well--especially in the tracks representing the battle-flavored parts of the movie. Very little woodwinds, though there are whistles here and there, and I don't think I caught any brass at all. So it's a very strings-heavy and percussion-heavy soundtrack, and that totally works for me, since it helps convey Aubrey as a violinist and Maturin as a cellist. :D ( Musical swoonage )
