Kickstarter update: Holding steady at 45 percent

We’re up to 45 backers and $1,825, and we’re 45 percent of the way there! And every last one of you who’ve chipped in so far are made of 100 percent, home-grown, pure organic awesome. It is a FACT, which I know because of my learnings!

And because of your general awesomeness, as I posted in my last update, I’ve dropped in that new all-ebook reward tier of $25, which will include both Faerie Blood and Bone Walker, as well as the previously posted short story “The Blood of the Land” and the in-progress Elizabeth/Ross novella. It is, therefore, time to share with you an excerpt from the short story!

This is another PDF link, and this one’s pretty short since the actual story is only about seven thousand words. I’m still putting it into PDF form though for the sake of brevity of post!

I’d like to extend particular thanks to all supporters who jump in despite having reservations about Kickstarter’s only allowed methods of payments are via Amazon. I very much respect why this might cause reservations, and deeply appreciate your support given anyway!

And remember, folks, even if you can’t support financially, signalboosting is love. It’s like handing cute little animals to the entire Internet! Or in my case, more excerpts–because we’re a scant $175 away from Chapter 2 of both books going up!

I'd really like to get in on this, as I've wanted a copy of Faerie Blood anyways (most esp a hard copy). I'm not sure if I can contribute this week though. Will next week be too late?

We have 25 days to go at this point, so you still have time! But sooner is better than later, as it is of Strategic Advantage--i.e., others are more likely to back as well if a project looks successful, and the way to make a project look successful is for people to back it! ;)

Well, m'dear, I want both of those books in my hands, so next Weds/Thurs, when I get paid again, I'm very very likely going to kick in at the $50 level because I must have them! *glee* It's going into the budget for next week. >:3

Keep in mind, nothing gets charged until and unless the project meets funding goal, and even then, only at the end of the fundraising period. That's kind of the point of Kickstarter. It places a pending on your card, not an actual purchase, so you don't end up with these half-funded projects that can't complete.

And thank you in advance for your support! Yes, Bone Walker is specifically the sequel to Faerie Blood. The other pieces mentioned in the various updates and reward tiers are in the same universe, but not directly related to the Kendis Thompson books.

However, if the project DOES make funding and we start thinking about stretch goals, I'll ALSO be dropping Book 3 of Kendis' trilogy into the mix, so watch for further updates on that!
