getting comments from here is stupid and seems to require also getting a DW inbox notification. if you've figured out how to just get an email about it, could you tell me how?

I will! So far I haven't seen any way to have it do JUST email.

I recognize that DW tried, in its inception, to deal with some of the difficulties presented by the LJ format, but it...missed the mark a lot... :}
