annathepiper: (Good Book)

This is super-quick, but here you go, a couple of books I’ve picked up lately, both in electronic form.

From B&N: Fiddlehead, by Cherie Priest. The latest and last of her Clockwork Century books. Looking forward to reading this QUITE a bit.

And from Smashwords: The Governess Affair, by Courtney Milan. Historical romance. A novella that’s the prequel to her Brothers Sinister series. This is actually available for free, and it’s self-pubbed by Milan, so I opted to pull it directly down from Smashwords.

176 for the year.

I have a suspicion that The Governess Affair was mentioned on Romance Novels for Feminists (romancenovelsforfeminists.blogspot.co.uk) recently. Shall go grab it anyway.

Oops. My comment possibly didn't come out the way I intended it. I meant that I thought that the book might have been mentioned as a good example of a particular issue being turned on its head, but that I was going to download it anyway, even if I'd misremembered which book with 'governess' in the title had been mentioned in any particular post since I've heard elsewhere that Milan is awesome.

As it turns out that Milan title was the book mentioned as showing a more realistic Regency duke than most of those the poster had been berating.

Does that all make sense?
