I must say that you know you’ve read a whole hell of a lot of urban fantasy when you see a title like The Beautiful and Damned, and you immediately think ‘vampires’.

I liked Tess of the D'Urbervilles, though I spent much of the book actively feeling like everyone was a moron. :)

I downloaded Shadow Bound, too. :) I picked up Darkfever when it was free (it might still be), and really liked that. I like it enough that I bought books #2 and #3. I'm waiting on the price for #4 to go down.

I'm pretty sure I read Tess in school but I don't remember it. I'll see if any of it comes back to me when I look at this copy.

I tried a bit of Darkfever when it was available on the Suvudu Free Library as I recall, and it didn't work for me. Glad to hear you enjoyed it, though. :)

I'm looking forward to what you think of Les Mis... Mother *hated* it, said the title was apropos. The movie, of course, got raves...

I expect my reaction to it will be similar to The Hunchback of Notre Dame, which is to say, "HEY VICTOR, I don't think that was grim enough! Wanna grim that up a bit more?"

Never saw the movie so I'll be going in blind plot-wise. We'll see what happens when I get to it. I may do a classics marathon later this year or something.

I had to read Ethan Frome in high school senior English. After doing the appropriate paper on it for class, the teacher showed the movie, which got me interested in Liam Neeson as an actor.

I'm sure I read it in school, but damned if I remember when or what it was about. We'll see if I remember it when I eventually get around to checking out this copy. :)

Haven't seen the Liam Neeson movie, but cool that you got to see it!
