I have been buying a BOATLOAD of ebooks lately, so I decided today that since the redoutable Third Place Books is having a sale (20 percent off EVERYTHING), I should go show the print books some love. And here’s what I walked out of the store with!

  • Heart of Veridon, by Tim Akers; fantasy
  • Acacia, by David Anthony Durham; fantasy
  • The First, Third, Fourth, and Sixth Books of Outremer, by none other than userinfodesperance (somewhere I’ll have to find books Two and Five); fantasy
  • An Autumn War, by Daniel Abraham; fantasy
  • Dragon in Chains, by Daniel Fox; fantasy (which should also please userinfodesperance!)

So fear not, print-side authors, I’ll still love you too even if I get a lot of ebooks these days!

Books thus far purchased in 2010: 8

Okay, you have me way beat: all I have bought thus far today has been airline tickets (aargh) and hotel bookings (sorta okay). Not much point in buying anything while in-transit: hardcopy books are being confiscated and chucked out; official paranoia is (I hope) a temporary state of affairs. Mind'ee, it's kind of hard to confiscate an e-book, ne?

What can I say? Keep on e-publishing -- Kendis will be my seatmate on the next flight over to Wachusetts......

Assuming nothing else today, you're on pace to buy 2,920 books this year.

Have you read Darkling by Yasmine Galenorn? She has several in this series of Sister Moon. I've read this one and like it okay but was wondering if I should continue.

Like I said, it was okay, but I was just wondering if my lack of complete interest was due to this book being third in the series; wasn't sure if missing out on the first two books was taking away from diving into the series like other series I've read.

Heh. If you have trouble locating the missing titles, let me know: copies can be sent. Yea, even across oceans.

Also, Daniel is chuffed, and thanks you. (Daniel Fox, that is; I'm sure Daniel Abraham is also chuffed, but I dursen't speak for him. Speaking for myself, I thought his was a fabulous book...)
