High Wind Watch for the Seattle area

For those of you who aren’t following me on Twitter or Facebook, y’all be advised that we have a Wind Advisory up for today and tomorrow and a High Wind Watch for Monday evening and Tuesday. Looks like we have the potential for some nasty gusts. Cross your fingers that this blows over (aheh) without coming to fruition, hey? Not only would a decent windstorm be guaranteed to knock out power at the Murk, it’d probably put a nasty crimp in our ability to get a very important project done at work!

ETA 6:25pm: And oh hey, the Seattle Times has an article up now. The money quote here being “If projections play out, it will be the strongest windstorm of the season”.

So keep a sharp eye on the weather forecasts, people. This could get crunchy.

Ha! Where I live it'd be more like a Great Big Sound, but there's a Storm Watch up for out on the coast, so it'll probably get a bit crunchy out there!

Thanks for the heads-up. I live right in between Seattle and Tacoma, so this might end up in my area. I wonder if my school will be canceled if the winds are bad enough that they do some damage--not that I want damage.

And ugh, yeah, Tacoma's also showing the same Watch and Advisory when I look them up on weather.com, so you should probably assume you're in the line of fire too. We'll see what happens!

We're usually pretty OK up here and I haven't noticed anything yet, but I'll keep an eye out. My office is way up in a high building, so it can be pretty impressive when the weather gets crazy!

We're good! My house got off scot-free from what power outage issues did happen overnight, although I saw a news report about a downed tree causing problems not far from where I live.

We're good, thankfully! We had no power problems at the Murk, although there were outages elsewhere in the region and I saw an article this morning about a downed tree causing issues not too far from where I live. Thanks for asking. :)
