It has come to my attention that Mr. Morten Harket, best known as the lead singer of a-ha, came out with a new solo album last year. Which is not available in the US, either physically or digitally! Woe!

As I must have this album, anybody in Europe willing to do a swap with me? I'll purchase something over here for you of equivalent value and send it to you, cost of item plus shipping. Or if it's possible to gift something downloadable, I can reciprocate on that too. Drop a comment if you're interested!

Not hugely urgent, so no need to rush! My preference would be a paid download since that would likely be both cheaper and faster, but I'm willing to swap for a physical CD as well. Thanks much!

amazon has it. but we do not shop there anymore, damn.

play and hmv do not have it. which exhausts my usual shopping haunts. i have to research this. i've never actually bought a download, so i need to find a vendor first... and nor amazon, nope.

Grf. Apple's site says that iTunes customers cannot gift music to people who aren't in the same country, so iTunes doesn't appear to be an option.

no problem. found it on the official universal music download site. it doesn't offer the whole album as a set, one has to buy each song individually for €0.99 each. with adds up to just under €14 for the entire album. there would be no postage, since i can sendspace it to you.

but wait a minute, let me check if perhaps you can register at the u-music thing yourself and do the whole deal without me. i mean, it's tghe internet, it's credit cards, how hard can it be.

sometimes i think the music industry is flat out lyuing when it claims it's been ripped off and crippled by illegal downloads. why are they making it so hard for people to buy their stuff then? it's the internet, stupid! what do you care where i am actually located? you'll get my money, i'll get your files, stop being so moronic!

the entire site is in german. i have not yet found an english equivalent. i checked their license agreement, but it's law gobbledegook to me and i am uncertain whether it actually means what i think it means.

i will write them an email and explain our case, asking whether you'll be able to buy directly from them. ight take a couple days, though, i am swamped this week...

I found the album as a digital dl on amazon.de for 9,63 €. I know someone already suggested a dl, but I wanted to put the offer out there!

Oh, I found it myself as a digital download on amazon.de last night; the only problem there is that I'm not sure whether as a US resident, I'm able to download from that site myself. iTunes won't let you download from the stores of other countries; I don't know what Amazon's rules are. I do know that amazon.co.uk's MP3 download site has a big thing on it saying US customers need to go to amazon.com and German customers need to go to amazon.de, due to issues of who has rights to what.

Kriski is going to investigate whether I can download directly from the link she mentions above, yeah. We'll see what happens with that but amazon.de is a feasible backup plan. Thanks! :)
