Wait, what? There’s Faerie Blood news? There IS!

Ladies and gentlemen, as of tonight I received from my editor her requested edits on Faerie Blood, and I have commenced sweeping through them. Furthermore, for icing on the cake, I have reviewed photos of several young women who might be potential inspiration for what my heroine could look like; think cover art here, people. And now, let me take a moment to stand back and admire this entire concept.

I’m reviewing changes. And cover art possibilities. From my editor. For my forthcoming book.

Aheh. Er. Sorry. That little squeeful squeak noise you just heard was me.

I just finished reviewing the changes on Chapter 1, of which there were not many. I’m going to see how fast I can plow through these over the weekend and get them back to my editor, and then we can see what happens next. I can’t guarantee Faerie Blood will be out by the end of April… but folks, we’re getting closer now.

I did edit a bit more of Lament as well last night, adding in about a paragraph. But Lament just dropped down the priority queue now that I’ve got these changes to review.

And we’ll see if Kendis winds up on the cover. I told my editor that I’ve always rather envisioned her as the child that Leetah and Rayek never had in Elfquest, and pointed her at the panel where Leetah and Rayek first come on camera in the online EQ archives. Maybe between that and one promising actual photo in the lot I’ve reviewed, we can come up with what Miss Kendis Thompson actually looks like.

I must have missed/misread an earlier post. I had no idea you had a real live physical kinda book in process.

I scared the kitten with the mighty "w00t!" I let out when the gist of this post sank into my insufficiently caffeined brain.

Huge congrats, with a side of "about time" for the publishers in the world.

I will, of course, buy one as soon as it's on a shelf anywhere in my reach. That does mean however, that you and I have to meet somewhere in real life cuz I need the autograph, y'know?

The book is real and soon to be live, but it won't yet be physical; this is the electronic release of Faerie Blood we're working on. This is because Drollerie does just about all of its initial releases electronically, due to not having the budget to print everything immediately.

However, a print version is likely later on, if the e-version does well enough. I will absolutely be relaying news on that front when it happens. :)

Ah! The 'cover art' thing confused me. It shouldn't have, as my band has cover art for our latest CD in both the physical and digital incarnation, but there ya go.

I'm still rooting for the dead tree version, just cuz I want the autograph. ;-)

Hee yeah, there will be cover art even for the ebook version.

Though how fast a print version will come out will depend on how well the ebook sells! ;)

It IS! This isn't the first time I've had to review changes--Faerie Blood has been through several rounds of beta reading--but this? This is a step up. ;)
