Had to cut down on the Friends list some tonight, folks; I've got too much to read and not enough time to read it in. Google Reader's an easier way to manage all the things I'm trying to keep track of.

So I've punted a bunch of the journals I'm following over into Google Reader. Nothing personal, any of y'all I've moved off the Friends list. I won't be upset if you take me off yours too. Cheers!

I've thought about doing that, but the journals I read the most consistently all lock entries fairly regularly and there's no way to get those to convey in RSS, is there, even if you're on the person's friends list and logged into LJ?

I am not tech-savvy enough to know of such a reader. I know a bunch of people who use those services that let you read LJ, IJ, Blogger and Twitter at once, but I get distracted having them all on one page -- this doesn't happen so much with news headlines, for some reason, I can use Google Reader fine for those!

Google reader does this actually but not on it sown.

I copied a version of this software webware to: http://lj.pernmu.com/

Because I didn't want my passwords hosted on someone's random machine. But you could copy it to murk somewhere I imagine? :)

Can you put Ljs into google reader? I thought it was just for other kinds of blogs.

All public posts are available in RSS feeds, but locked posts are not.

Huh. Ok, thanks (both of you!)

Unfortunately, the Friends List works two ways. Yes, you see other peoples' locked posts when they are on your list, but then they also see yours. But when friends are removed, they no longer see your locked posts of anything (say, health updates) that are usually shared only with friends.

And for everything else...there's Facebook :)

(Happy post-birthday, btw :D)
