By way of greatbigsea.com this morning, I have heard tell of cbc.ca's 49 Songs from North of the 49th Parallel, a poll they're conducting to select 49 songs that ought to be on Obama's playlist so as to introduce him to Canada.

It is my patriotic duty as an American citizen AND a Great Big Sea fan to encourage you to go vote, early and often, for "Ordinary Day"! It is after all this journal's theme song. Go! Vote! Now!

Yeah, I see several songs I'd certainly consider voting for if I weren't voting for "Ordinary Day"! I do wonder how they're going to do the selection of the final 49, though--there are 100 songs on the list, so surely they're going to cull the top winners out of the categories to get the final set?
