82 books, eh? Do you re-read books that you really liked? And if so, do you count those as books read in the year? Or do you only count ones you're reading for the first time?

I do indeed count re-reads for my yearly total; I had re-reads for both the 2007 and 2008 book logs.

I have so far been counting books I've re-read to the total for the year, yeah. I suppose one can argue that that's cheating a bit, if you know the book already. ;) But so far all the books I've recently re-read are also ones I hadn't read in long enough that I was fuzzy on the details. I think that if I were to re-read a book within two years, I probably wouldn't count it!

I ask, because I'm considering tracking the books I read over the course of the year, and I tend to re-read things a lot. So far, everything I've read this year has been a re-read 1) because I'm broke and can't afford to go to the bookstore and 2) I haven't had time to get to the library yet.

But, at the moment, I'm on pace to read 274 books! :D That will certainly slack off when work picks up again (soon, please god) but I just started book #3 of the year after dinner tonight...lol!

I'd say track it however you feel like tracking it. If you think it counts as reading a book this year, it counts as reading a book this year. :)

It's 2009's projected total. I think I'm going to track every book...first read or re-read...just to see how much I actually read in a year. Just about to wrap book three and picked up four new ones from the library this afternoon.

Can you tell I'm a book-aholic? :D

Okay...finished book three after dinner...started book four shortly after that.

Just finished book four. It's 2:30 in the morning. The only reason I can read so much is apparently because I don't sleep...lol.
