Oh geez, now we're also going to have high winds to deal with this weekend, too?

This is a High Wind Watch, people, talking about 50-70mph sustained winds and gusts up to 70-90mph. I strongly recommend keeping an eye on this. If it actually happens this sounds like it's going to be one of the most severe windstorms we've experienced for a while.

It doesn't look like Kenmore's going to be in the direct line of fire for this but we will probably be on the edges. And that'll be plenty annoying. This is going to be one of those times I hope that the weather forecasters are actually wrong.

ETA 5:35pm: There's a Special Weather Statement up now too that references another likely snowstorm coming in, along with the "wind event". So assuming that this does actually happen, this weekend is shaping up to be full of Suck.

I believe that could be summed up with "oh, crap."

The one two years ago was worse; we were gusting to the century mark. I felt the Treehouse shift on its foundations a bit (thank goodness for earthquake strapping!); we later figured out it had actually *moved* a couple inches. None the worse for wear, but yeep! If it hadn't actually been strapped down...

(And me without a Piglet icon for the Blustery Day....)

I'd like to move somewhere that doesn't suck, please. Seems like el nino, la nina, doesn't matter... winters just keep getting more sucktastic.

global weirding at work (a friend calls it that under circumstances that make "global warming" a total misnomer)

The weather gods are saying "Flee to Hawaii, home of Obama, where it is 85 and you can eat fresh pineapple for breakfast _every day_."

I think they own a jet ski business there or something. Bastards.
