There will be a much longer post about this tomorrow, but tonight I will simply say that GBS rocked the Moore, as absolutely expected.

And, as expected, Alan is still pretty, Séan still has wicked pipes, and Bob can still play pretty much Everything. <3

Highlights of the show for me include their performing "Chemical Worker's Song" (which those of you who have been paying attention to the Jam Reports may note is a favorite at Jam) and "Tickle Cove Pond" (as an Alan solo! Squee!). Lots of songs were done off the new album, and a girl in the audience actually jumped up on stage and started stepdancing during "Company of Fools". Security almost threw her out, but the band said she could stay. Yay!

I am sheepish to admit that I did not stay in my seat as much as I should have, in no small part because everybody in front of us was standing and I could not see a damn thing when I was sitting down. But I did mostly restrain the bouncing to the knees only, and only punched the air with my left hand. *^_^*;; Mostly, I perched on the tipped-up back of my seat, which let me kind of half-sit down.

I was also Responsible Girl and came straight home despite the band dropping a lengthy musical hint that they'd be at Kells tonight. Were I not Recovery Girl, and had [livejournal.com profile] mamishka not had to work tomorrow, we'd totally have gone. As it is, I am now going to bed, and shall dream sweet dreams of my B'ys. <3

More tomorrow!

I'm not even Recovery Girl, and I didn't have the energy to deal with Kells. Oh well. :)

'twas great to see you! :)

Mm, lunchy.

Fridays are always good (except for this one, since I've got a long doctor's appt. in the morning) since my boss is out on Fridays, my meetings are pretty much nil and no one really notices or cares if my lunch break isn't exactly an hour. :)

FWIW, Kells was too crowded. I showed up for about 10 minutes, but it was loud and crowded and just too much. I lacked the energy, so I departed. Also, I am still deaf. Front row = fun but OW. Was good to see you, though!

Were you my neighbor, the girl with the hurt finger from the horse? :) (or [livejournal.com profile] silenceleigh's neighbor, I guess -- I was on the other side of her, at the end of the row).

Indeed! Hello again! :)

I wish I'd had the energy for (and a ride home from) Kells, but alas. I must console myself with the memory of being in the front row, a mere five feet from Alan and Séan for most of the concert. Alan WINKED directly at me! TWICE! *swoon*

He was an evil flirt! But it was fun! :)

They need to come here. And you guys all need to come here to see them with me. I have not had an Alan conversation, or even an Alan live fix in years now. YEARS!

It would be way better if they'd come play at the Fairgrounds across the street. ;)

Also, if I didn't already have plans to take my dad to the symphony for his birthday (the 12th), I'd totally have to take him to GBS in Portland.

oh, foo, you were so fired up by half way through the second set we'd have had to hold you down to keep you in your seat. It was a joy to see. :)

Thank you... the seats were perfect, and the music was good, and the healing was better. Looking forward to copious notes! :)

No way should you stay in your seat when the music is callin' you, girl!

****Hugs****

I'm so glad you had so much fun. :)
