They actually let me go home before lunch today, which was a welcome surprise! So now as of this posting I'm home again. Yay!

I'm a little loopy but grateful to be sitting up on our nice comfortable couch. I was able to get dressed okay, even though putting on clothes over my dressings was a bit of a challenge. *^_^*;; I'm a bit raspy in the throat; something's still getting shaken loose by the breathing tube thing, which they did send home with us.

And, as expected, the cats are confused. Fred is, at least, wondering why I'm sitting in my usual spot on the couch with an unusual pillow next to me! No sign of George yet.

It's all rainy and icky out today but hey, I don't have to go anywhere for a while. So that's all good.

Home is good too. Yay home.

YAY HOME! Consider yourself covered in love and snuggles! :-)

Let me know when you think you might feel up to having some company. I'm free Sunday through Wednesday this week. After that I start a 9 day temp job (yay money!) so I will be only free in the evenings and weekends thereafter. :-)

Yay, home again! God, those breathing tubes will make your throat feel like a cat scratched its way up out of it wearing a sandpaper jacket! I hate those things.

Many feel-better-soon hugs! A rainy, icky day is a good excuse to curl up with some BM/EP, though... :)

On that note, I thought of you today as I was reading this book, called Silent in the Sanctuary. It's the second in a new series by Deanna Raybourn (the first is Silent in the Grave). Have you read it or heard of it? I thought of you because I think you MIGHT enjoy it. It's Victorian-themed and it's mystery/suspense with a bit of romance, including a very Riley-from-Into the Darkness-type hero. Now, you know how I feel about romance for the most part, but it's so skillfully (and not overly) done that it ALMOST reads like something BM could have done in her very early days when she was into the period stuff. Just wanted to throw that out for you in case you're interested.

I had an appendectomy when I was 15 years old - this was way way back in the stone age, 1980 - and they apparently put a breathing tube down me after I'd been put under anesthesia.

It scrached my uvula either on the way down or on the way back up; half of it was swollen and it was damn near impossible to stop gagging from this thick swollen *thing* on the back of my tongue near my throat.

It was a special Hell I shall never forget...

Deena here. It took me a bit to figure out who Anna the Piper is, but now that I have, I've friended you. I'm very glad to see you're home again, and I hope the recovery is much easier than anyone might have imagined.

I was always told you were suppose to suck on the breathing thingy, not blow into it. Much more difficult, but more useful. Happy, healing thoughts for your continued recovery.
