I have no idea if they have any local people. But yeah, that was genius. solarbird and spazzkat were all "It's just like an extended cut scene from the Buffy musical!" ;)
I think the Best Game Ever (http://improveverywhere.com/2008/04/07/best-game-ever/) was also really good, but in a different way. The foodcourt musical is just awesome, though. If only life were like that! ;-)
I am in TOTAL AWE of people who have the cajones to break into song in the middle of a food court. So VERY COOL. And also, mightily impressed here that they got to arrange to pipe the music through the PA!
The reaction shots of the people at the tables are hysterical. :D
Yeah, the fact that they arranged to pipe the music through the PA system is almost my favorite part of the whole scenario. :D But the security guy making his entrance, especially the 'ZOMG' musical hits on the soundtrack before he finally bursts into song himself, are GENIUS.
Improv Everywhere rocks. I teach theatre and my students are so excited with ideas and sketches like these; they really want to put something like that together just for the fun of it. And I love how it brings smiles to the faces of everyone in the food court - that's the sort of spontaneous cheer-spreading I'd be all over. ^^

Date: 2008-04-18 05:01 pm (UTC)And let's face it. That's a pretty hip bunch of mall execs to help out with the thing like that.
