Dude, I have totally got to read this book now

Having discovered cmpriest by way of mdhenry and blue_succubus and their Seattle Author Posse, I must note that:

1. I am quite looking forward to reading Four and Twenty Blackbirds, now parked on my To Read shelf along with blackaire's Night Life and yuki_onna's In the Night Garden, and

2. As quoted right off cmpriest's LJ, this sounds like the coolest novel-to-be I have heard about in some time:

west coast steampunk Victoriana book with zombies, air ships, toxic gas clouds, mad scientists, dead folk heroes, secret criminal societies, and Bonus! extended deleted scenes from the Civil War

SOLD. I want my copy now, please!

She had my attention at "zombies", but by the time I got to "Bonus! extended deleted scenes from the Civil War", that was extra tasty frosting on top of a cake made of awesome. That? That is what I call a PITCH. ;)

I am sooooo with you on the "west coast...Civil War" one. I wish whoever publishes it would use that as the cover blurb! Not counting on it, but so, so hoping....

I am not yet familiar enough with cmpriest and her work to know who publishes her work, but that would indeed be an awesome cover blurb. That all by itself has me anxiously awaiting The Boneshaker, and has me totally interested in reading everything else she's put out already!

I don't think Four and Twenty Blackbirds is supposed to be related to the novel-to-be, which is The Boneshaker. But I thought that Four and Twenty Blackbirds also sounded cool on its own merits, which is why I bought it. :)
