Sunday Norwescon
Mar. 23rd, 2008 07:03 pmThis turned out to be a very casual and short convention day. I blame this entirely upon staying up until quite a bit late helping
solarbird proofread the newsletter last night, since that directly led into neither of us having much oomph for anything today. It didn't help matters much that Dara's now fighting off the same plague that's been assaulting me, too.
Aside from popping briefly into the dealer's room to get myself the Doctor Who shirt I wanted and to doublecheck whether they had any of the Browncoat shirts in a size that would fit
technoshaman, I did pretty much nothing but help Dara load the car and then hang out for a while in the lobby futzing around on my computer and then playing a little music. A couple of fellow fen, a young girl with a half-size student guitar and her mother, hung out with us for a while; the kid was drawn to Dara's mandolin, and they traded little tidbits of songs for a while before I eventually played her guitar. (I'd already sent Rags home in
spazzkat's car since we hadn't had room for the case in ours. Oh well!)
It was a nice little guitar, not a half bad sound for a half-sized instrument, and it has made me decide that eventually I'd like to have a full-sized acoustic with the steel strings with standard spacing. There are sounds you can get out of those strings that you just can't get out of nylon ones.
We left shortly after Dara popped into the Onions and Roses panel, and now we're home again, and there will be pizza.
