[livejournal.com profile] spazzkat and I didn't get to the con until after work yesterday, which was expected. But we're here! And here are some super-fast highlights:

Best costumes I've spotted so far: girl in an Avatar Kyoshi costume from Avatar: The Last Airbender, and another girl wandering around in a very, very cool outfit that involved horns and hooved feet that made her very tall. Today, best costume spotted so far goes to a couple of people dressed up like the cat nuns from the New Earth episodes of Doctor Who. Very, very cool!

I've been spending most of this morning getting books signed, which is unusual for me, but we have a bunch of cool authors here. I got [livejournal.com profile] naominovik's signature on my paperback copy of His Majesty's Dragon (in glittery blue ink, hee), [livejournal.com profile] jpsorrow's signature on The Skewed Throne (and a very pleasant chat with him about the Plot Synopsis Project, which I'll have to check out in further depth), and Kat Richardson's signature on her Poltergeist, which I've been meaning to read anyway since I did rather like Greywalker.

As soon as I'm done with this entry, I'm going to go get [livejournal.com profile] blue_succubus to sign Succubus Blues, and [livejournal.com profile] mdhenry to sign Happy Hour of the Damned. Yay!

[livejournal.com profile] solarbird is coming down with the same damn plague that's been harassing me for the last three weeks; I've about shaken it, but not entirely, and had to bail on watching the Match Game SF thing last night because I was starting to feel worn out. I hope to make it through today and tomorrow on cough drops and caffeine and other cold meds.

There are a few potentially interesting writing panels I may go to, but mostly, I'm looking at this as a relaxicon. And there will of course be the Masquerade tonight, and hopefully, filk. We'll see if I get a chance to play this guitar I've hauled all the way down here. It is however worth noting that Dara's been carrying around her walking stick flute Splinter and has been asked repeatedly to play it. In the dealer's room last night, she also got asked to play the mandolin, and she whipped through a few chords from "Goin' Up" while I sang the first verse and chorus. GBS at Norwescon for the Win!
