Meanwhile, a bookstore accident!
Mar. 5th, 2008 08:05 pmHad to swing through the U-district on the way home today to get contact lenses, so a pop into the University Bookstore was necessary, yea, even REQUIRED. I walked out with the following bounty:
Ann Aguirre's Grimspace, which I wanted purely on the basis of seeing an ad for it on
smartbitches. But also, it seems like a light skiffy adventure with probable hefty side helping of romance. Linnea Sinclair and Sharon Shinn both blurb it. Should be fun.
Sarah A. Hoyt's Heart of Light, which I picked up on the strength of its summary when I spotted it in my Recommendations list on Amazon.
John Levitt's Dog Days, to carry on the theme of being in the mood for male-protag urban fantasy as of late. Also, this one stars a musician, so hey.
Jumping over into the mystery genre, Suzanne Arruda's Mark of the Lion, which I was anxious to find after buying the second book that goes with it at the Seattle Times employee book sale a while back and not wanting to read Book 2 until I read Book 1. Yay!
And last but not least,
mdhenry's Happy Hour of the Damned, about which I have seen much enthusiastic buzz all over my Friends list and Google reader. Since I discovered to my chagrin that I'd left
mizkit's House of Cards at work (argh!), I immediately started reading this instead when I went to get pho at Than Brothers post-bookstore. As expected, it is hysterical. More on this to come!
