They're taunting me, I tell you. The tracking page still says "On FedEx vehicle for delivery", which is what it's said since 9:55am this morning. There are about 33 miles between Kent and Kenmore. I have been twitching all day wondering what the hell the driver is doing, stopping every fifty feet to drop something off? Aigh! AIGH, I say!

My boss seems to think I might get it tomorrow morning, but [livejournal.com profile] spazzkat says FedEx doesn't deliver on weekends, so it's starting to look like I'm not going to see the box until Monday. I'm thinkin', this is clear evidence that it should be named Winnowill, on the grounds that it will get here when it damn well pleases, and probably screw with any PCs it passes on the way. ;)

ETA 8:09pm: It's HERE! It got here the instant I was sitting down to dinner! Dude apologized for being late and said that apparently the actual scheduled driver's wife got sick, so he had to take over. I told him that was totally okay, signed for the box, and now I get to play with the computer! Hurray!

Hmm. If I remember correctly, the Kent FedEx facility is for their "Home Delivery" branch, which delivers Tues-Sat, not Mon-Fri.

Also, I've noticed that FexEx and others sometimes will just randomly not deliver stuff if they didn't promise that it would be delivered that day.

Not that any of this will help you get it any sooner. :(

I wouldn't give up hope. They're probably delivering later than normal because of the volume of stuff to get out there. (I've noticed that the postman sometimes rings twice, so to speak, in mid-to-late December.)

I was wondering when you posted less than an hour after it went out for delivery that you expected it within the hour. In my experience, a package is out of delivery all day until it finally arrives sometime in the afternoon just after you've given up on it arriving that day. Does FedEx promise two-hour windows or something?

FedEx is evil. A few years back (i could go find the posts if sufficiently motivated) i'd ordered new hockey skates to have in time for either the annual players' festival or for the coaches' game following. They were listed as "on truck for delivery" on Tuesday or Wednesday, but didn't actually get delivered until the following Monday- after the event for which they were needed.

That sucks, but at least FedEx doesn't have this guy:

Hey, once we get MurkJournal up and going (or if it's got a long compile cycle), we could have a recording session! :)

I'm *so* looking forward to this. I haven't done a real Solstice vigil in a long time. Long time.
