So, first week of radiation done, no problems, right? I got into work this morning, feeling fine all up until it's time to go to lunch...

... at which point, on my way into the Whole Foods, I tripped on the three shallow stairs leading up to the entrance and sprawled into the pile of firewood bundles right next to the doors. I knocked one bundle off. I took the impact on my knees, my right elbow--and my head. I'm not entirely sure whether I bonked my head on the firewood or on the pavement, but either way, ow.

I heard somebody cry out "accident" inside, and about two seconds after I was done, a clerk came running out to see if I was okay. I told him I thought so, though I had to sit there for a few moments with my head in my hands, trying to get my shit back together. Eventually I made it to my feet and into the store, at which point at least three other clerks all asked if I was okay and that they needed to make sure before they let me out of the store. I told them all I intended to get something to eat and then to sit all nice and quiet-like in their eating area. Which I did.

Once I had some food in me I made it back up the hill to the Times building, but back at my workstation, I started feeling a little sick and queasy. So as per my boss' suggestion, I went out again to the little clinic down at the corner and asked their staff if somebody in there could look me over. I filled out paperwork, waited a bit, and finally got seen by a young doctor in there; he checked my eyes and my reflexes and did a basic neurological exam of me, and pronounced me eventually okay aside from bumps and bruises. No concussion or anything. I have only a couple of abraded bits on my knees and elbow, but I've got a visible bump on my forehead, just under my hairline, and the headache to go with. Ow.

So I went back to work and sat there real quiet-like, just filing bugs and stuff, until it was time to head to zappy. After the zap, I was due anyway to have my weekly status check with Dr. Taylor, so I made sure and asked him and the nurse if there was any possibility that I might be showing early fatigue symptoms yet. I haven't felt tired yet--but then, I'm not normally spectacularly clumsy, either. They think it's too early for fatigue to set in.

So I guess I get to chalk up today to a critical failure on my Dex roll. Stupid dice. I demand a reroll.

I thought I was suppose to be the clumsy one in the family. :)

Glad to hear that things weren't too bad, considering. Is there a way of keeping a sort of snack or something of that nature at your desk at work -- not necessarily to avoid having the munchies but to keep up your blood sugar?
