Guh, I'm tellin' ya, hardcore rain, flood, and wind warnings are just the thing I wanted to see in the greater Seattle metro area on the day when I need to set out for my very first day of radiation treatment. I've been working from home all day so far, so I have at least missed the joy of this morning's commute. Not so fortunate was
spazzkat, who relayed to
solarbird and me that it took him about an hour and 15 minutes to get from Kenmore to downtown Seattle. Lake Forest Park Town Center was a mess, with the little creek in front of the shopping center overflowing its banks.
I've been following the coverage the Times has been posting all day, and note with some trepidation that the underpass under 405 that's right on my usual route over to Evergreen has been closed due to flooding. Which means I'll need to take a slightly longer route to get there. Hopefully there won't be any wacky fun surprises on Bothell Way up to 405, or on 405 back down into Kirkland.
Also, I think I'll be leaving super-early just to take it nice and slow and easy to get there. I'll either show up ridiculously early, in which case I'll hang around and read something, or else I'll get there close to the proper time after a very cautious drive. Wish me luck, folks.

Date: 2007-12-03 10:11 pm (UTC)And I'm off to get my third dose of chemo, yummy stuff looks like fluorescent brake fluid, and everyone treats it cautiously like it's serious ju-ju (which I suppose it probably is....).
Will be interesting to see if the harbour road has flooded out yet or now. Rate things are going here, we will have a couple of days of slush yet to go.
