Newest members of the Murkworks household!

This afternoon our friend Sadie, the in we have at one of the local animal shelters, gave spazzkat a call to report that they'd gotten in a set of three orange male tabby kittens, and did we want to come take a look at them? "Boy, do we!" we said, and we zoomed over there this evening to take a look at them.

There was another family looking at the third of the set, but Sadie had set aside the ones she thought were the cutest: a stripey orange fellow with white paws, and his buff-colored brother. Apparently their previous names were Mr. Stripes and Dusty. But we, presented with two orange tabby brothers, pretty much had to call them Fred and George. And yes, ladies and gentlemen, this means we have two new fuzzy additions to the household!

When we got them home, both kittens pretty much set out on a quest to explore what portions of the house we're allowing them in right now--though this also meant that we found out they fit behind the washer and dryer (where George ventured until we coaxed him back out) and behind the entertainment center (where Fred was hell-bent on exploring). After a while George curled up with solarbird on the couch, all tuckered out from that big adventure of coming to a brand new place. He was quite fascinated by Dara's laptop, though, and kept trying to poke at the keyboard with his wee paw. Fred kept up with the zooming around the house for a bit: LOOKIT THAT LOOKIT THAT OOH WHAT'S THIS AND DO I FIT BACK HERE ZOOM!

As of this writing they're both curled up by Dara, between her and the couch cushion, since it's all snuggly and warm. The house has cats again. Life is pretty good. <3

And hey, these boys even match our floors! George is pretty much the exact color of our carpet, and Fred matches the hardwood floors. :D

What adorable mischief-makers! I'm trying to convince my hubby that we need another cat, since Meany is a cat-lover. (My cat, Willow, loathed other cats. And she did have very good reasons, but it was still inconvenient.)

I overheard the other family who wanted the third of this set discussing which kitten they wanted to take home, yeah; the shelter staff was explaining to them about how if you have an adult female in the house, she's more territorial than an adult male would be. These two boys certainly seem to get along well together, though!

I adore Fred and his little white paws :-) No house should be without cats, it's a horrible emptiness to suffer.

Fred's definitely got his racin' stripes on! He's a lot more prone to zooming at top speed around the house; George is shyer. And it took me a few to realize that George also has little white paws!

I definitely missed kitty presence in the house. Now all we need is another talkiebird!

ZOMG, the CUTENESS!!!!! ME WANT KITTEN! (I haven't had a kitten-kitten since James, 15 years ago. Arnold was 6 months, Winnifred 15 months, when they arrived on my doorstep to claim me.

This is some hardcore cuteness Sadie has provided us, that's for sure! It was a bit of a challenge walking into that shelter full of kitties and thinking "I want ALL THE KITTENS!" But these boys are the win! ^_^

Oh, how cute! They look like my friend Norma's new kitten, Vincent (aka Vin-dude or VinDartha...lol) He's part Siamese and has these cute little mustaches that stick out of his ears :) And short little legs and the bushiest tail I've ever seen!

They had a third brother that we didn't take home, but we suspected that he'd get snatched up pretty quickly. There was another family at the shelter looking to adopt a kitten, too. ^_^

Fred and George appear to be your basic orange longish-haired tabbies--barn cats. Literally! They were in fact born in a barn!

Since my cat is no longer a kitten, It is entirely possible that your kittens ARE the cutest kittens in the entire world! I think we need more data. Please provide further evidence of kitten cuteness ASAP!
