On my way home this afternoon, I stopped at Barnes and Noble downtown to pick up the fourth Temeraire novel that I'd failed to find over the weekend, along with the latest J.D. Robb paperback. (I was not successful in finding Koji Suzuki's Spiral, which so far has failed to be present in three out of three bookstores checked; I shall have to venture a little farther afield.)

Shortly after I got home, however, [livejournal.com profile] risu also came home and presented me a copy of Terry Pratchett's Going Postal... and another copy of Empire of Ivory. In a word: DOH!

So now I have an extra copy of the latest [livejournal.com profile] naominovik goodness. If anybody would like my extra, please to sing out. I loves me some Captain Laurence, but he doesn't have to occupy my bookshelf twice. ;)

Still though, public thanks for [livejournal.com profile] risu. Because the thought was entirely awesome, as I have every faith that the books will be!

ETA 10/2/07 12:25pm: [livejournal.com profile] cflute was first to ask for the book! Captain Laurence and Temeraire will be winging her way.

A friend of mine says that Going Postal is probably his favorite Pratchett novel to-date, and that says a lot for it, because the man is an absolute nut about Pratchett's writing.

It's definitely one I'm going to have to look into getting...
