Ladies and gentlemen, the B'ys are imminent. Nigh. Will be, in eighteen scant more days, here to sing, strum, bang on bodhrans, wail away on fiddles, and in general be so roguishly swoonable that I am likely to be dead from squee for days afterwards. Y'all know this drill. ;)

However, I'm hearing several disparate rumblings that indicate to me that I won't be alone at this year's ritual Ogling of the Newfoundlanders, and the question has been raised to me about the possibility of combining forces for the show and/or food. I think this is a delightful idea. If you do too and you're coming to this show, peek behind the cut!


Show details: Sunday the 29th at the Zoo Ampitheater. According to the FAQ on the ZooTunes page, doors open at 5pm, music starts at 6pm, and shows end no later than 8:30pm. The FAQ also advises that if you want a really good spot (i.e., if we want anywhere near Stage Alan and Stage Séan ;) ), the line outside the zoo generally starts around 4pm.

P.S. If you want to come to the show but don't have a ticket yet, the ZooTunes page claims that local Metropolitan Markets should still have some. I recommend you hightail it to one of their locales ASAP!

We're going, and know of at least three others. We're also zoo members, and will probably be around early to snap up places in line so the boys can get close enough to see without having to be held the whole time.

Sadly, I'm down in Damascus, at my dad's. However, if it is 18 days away, that might work.

The only problem is that I cannot get to one of those local market thingies, not being local and all. I can pay ya for a ticket either before or after if you're willing to go get me one! I haven't seen the b'ys in forever!

Hrrrmmm... that's a difficult date to pinpoint, in terms of availability, due to the movingness. I'll have to wait and see for a couple more days, I think. If I can get out of my old apartment in time, and don't have other conflicts, I'll let you know.

My roommate and I are going. She had a chance to get free tickets to any of the zoo concerts so I picked this one. Neither one of us has ever seen them before and have only heard a few of their songs.

For the first time in I think 10 shows (except the one last year at the Moore that was reserved seating), I have no plans to be either Stage Alan or Stage Bob, or anywhere in between. This year I'll be hanging w/ my sis & her wee wanes. I expect much dancing and bouncing about w/ the 3-year-old, and a little less w/ the (by then) nearly-5-month-old. The 3-year-old in particular likes the "silly music." Maybe I'll bring my binoculars for proper Newfie ogling from afar...

Awww, kids watching GBS! That sounds charming and delightful. :)

I'm genuinely not sure how the seating arrangements will work at this venue (i.e., I don't know how much by the stage space there will be), but we'll see. Either way, it'll be great to see you there!
