More on the BSG season finale

gamera_spinning, here is a quite interesting interview with Ron Moore regarding the BSG season finale and a few hints of what's to come. Chock full of spoilerage, of course, so don't peek if you haven't seen the finale yet!
But if you have, I must now make the following observations:
If Sam is one of the Final Five, does this mean that there are perhaps more of him out there? If so, I'd like one, please. Shipped to my home address.
If Kara is the last of the Final Five, does this mean that Lee and Sam can both have one to themselves?
Now that we know that there are two confirmed Cylon/human babies in the Fleet, I'd say Callie owes Athena an apology. Maybe they can make a bonding opportunity out of this? Form a club. Mothers of Galactica Toaster Babies, maybe.
And, I have only this to say about the whole Music Makes Final Five Cylons Go thing, and that is this: "A robot would have to be crazy to want to be a folk singer!" ^_^

Date: 2007-03-27 04:50 pm (UTC)Speaking as someone who has in the middle of writing a story had something up and abruptly shift on me in the middle of creating it, I rather have sympathy for a moment of "guh, the only way A works is if B happens".
Now, granted, there's a difference between having this happen in the creation of a novel and having it happen during a TV show--but I can certainly also see it happening for a writer trying to do a trilogy, in which the planning for (say) the third novel has only barely begun when the first one comes out. You have an idea of where you're going to get to, only you don't necessarily know the route you're going to take. And the route reveals itself while you're actually creating the story.
Hell, and as

Tigh is just F-ed up, considering the man is a known and vocal toaster hater. (I bet he only eats bread!)
Anders and the chick were from out of nowhere for me.
Final of the five speculation:
It will not be Kara. And while my logical mind wants to lean toward Adama or Roslin, won't be them either. Definitely will NOT be Baltar. Gaeta is a maybe.
No, my money is on someone much more unlikely.
Baltar's LAWYER! (Anyone recognize Badger from Firefly as Baltar's lawywer? :>)

Date: 2007-04-02 11:35 pm (UTC)We knew about the Sixes, the Leobens, the Dorals (Fives), and the Boomers (Eights) from the original miniseries. We got the Threes, the Simons, and the Cavils all revealed in the course of an episode or two. No time for buildup for any of them either.
I agree that it might have been nice to get some buildup for the Final Five, given that they are supposed to be Special and Different Cylons, but on the other hand... thinking about it, I can't really fault them for not doing so. With the other model revelations, they did plenty of work muddying the waters for us until we got to the point that if anybody in the Fleet did anything even remotely suspicious, we were all, "CYLON! THAT'S A CYLON! GOTTA BE!" The characters themselves had no idea they were of the Five, and the other Cylons had no idea either... which kind of limits the buildup options we could have gotten, I think. Dreams, maybe...
... or a triggering event. Which is what we got.
