Giving a whole new meaning to "Beware the Old Black Rum"

I learned a new thing tonight: Great Big Sea can give me bouzouki elbow!

As I'd been gushing over the weekend, I got all inspired to pick up the instruments again, which was brought about by yakking with raise_a_jar. I had bouzouki on Saturday, and the big mand and the guitar on Sunday... and round about Saturday night my shoulder started hurting. It was okay Sunday morning, but when I went down to pick up risu from the airport, it started hurting again under the seat belt. And last night, it was actively interfering with my sleep.

I went in for chiro tonight, and after I told Dr. DuBois where I was hurting, she checked me out and discovered that I'd actually scooched one of my ribs out of place! She set it right again, but I'm still sore and probably will be until my muscles in my arm all stop going "OW what the hell just happened here?!"

Sniff, and here I was looking forward to playing with the little mand tonight. Looks like I shall have to give it a few days to rest the arm up, and maybe try the playing this weekend. And with a little less cowbell this time.

I am woefully out of practice, so I do need to strum between now and then, but I shall definitely strum lightly. I'm looking forward to seeing you all there.

I fear more cowbell in "Mari-Mac". I mean, you try to do a rhythm line on the cowbell in that, and you're mostly getting a continuous string of DING DING DINGALING DINGY DING DING DING DINGITY DINGITY DING DING DING. It's like cowbells falling down stairs.
