BSG 3.18: "The Son Also Rises"
Mar. 11th, 2007 08:51 pmI knew he was coming courtesy of seeing it posted on
whedonesque, but it was still kind of weird and cool to see the dude who'd played Badger on Firefly guest-starring in tonight's Battlestar. Complete with the same accent! And this was mostly a filler episode, but with some definite sniffle-inducing moments....
Big sniffles for Adama looking through Starbuck's file. With all the disciplinary notices in it, hee. And the card was hysterical. And the tears on Adama's face along with his huge grin at the sight of the card... awww.
OMG poor Sam, seven sheets to the wind and wobbling back and forth on top of that viper. And, "I think I fell." Sniff. Double sniff that it was Lee who had to get him down from there, too.
And sniff at Lee calling Racetrack Starbuck by mistake during the briefing.
And sniff at Sam hobbling in on crutches while Lee was finally putting Kara's picture up by Cat's on the memorial wall. We now have a house consensus that Sam is infinitely hotter than Lee (though we also grant that Lee is still Quite Hot), and that furthermore, Lee and Sam should bloody well console one another for their loss. 'Cause I mean, damn. Talk about a "KISS HIM, ya big lug!" moment there.
Sniff.

Date: 2007-03-12 04:07 am (UTC)Oh gods no. I was totally thinking that. LET ME HAVE MY FANTASIES DAMN YOU RON MOORE!

Date: 2007-03-12 06:08 am (UTC)Romo is a very interesting character...especially with the whole pickpocket thing. It'll be very interesting to watch him over the next few eps..I have no ideas where his loyalties (if he has them) lie.

And I must now admire your icon!

Date: 2007-03-14 02:28 pm (UTC)It would seem weird and repetitive to me if any of the Final Five are doing the exact same thing as the rest of them. Even aside from the standpoint of "if the Final Five are so special, why are they acting like the other models?", we've done the "Cylon is hiding undetected in the Fleet" plot several times now. It's lost its ability to be surprising.
And I kind of feel the same way I did when the debate arose about whether Tigh's wife was a Cylon, i.e., I wanted her to be human just because we needed to see some truly annoying human characters running around. So this new guy? I want him to be human just because he shouldn't have to be a Cylon to be intriguing and murky. :)

Date: 2007-03-14 03:22 am (UTC)Hmmm, that's debatable. Badger was definitely a Cockney (the actor is from London, we checked, though we didn't discover which part). This lawyer guy - there are vowels in there that are a long way from Cockney. It sounded like he was trying to do an Irish accent that wasn't coming off in places. Very odd mix.

Date: 2007-03-14 03:41 pm (UTC)Dish Network lost our service for two days and we missed our usual slot for recording BSG. I was hoping the filler episodes were done.
