I knew he was coming courtesy of seeing it posted on [livejournal.com profile] whedonesque, but it was still kind of weird and cool to see the dude who'd played Badger on Firefly guest-starring in tonight's Battlestar. Complete with the same accent! And this was mostly a filler episode, but with some definite sniffle-inducing moments....

Big sniffles for Adama looking through Starbuck's file. With all the disciplinary notices in it, hee. And the card was hysterical. And the tears on Adama's face along with his huge grin at the sight of the card... awww.

OMG poor Sam, seven sheets to the wind and wobbling back and forth on top of that viper. And, "I think I fell." Sniff. Double sniff that it was Lee who had to get him down from there, too.

And sniff at Lee calling Racetrack Starbuck by mistake during the briefing.

And sniff at Sam hobbling in on crutches while Lee was finally putting Kara's picture up by Cat's on the memorial wall. We now have a house consensus that Sam is infinitely hotter than Lee (though we also grant that Lee is still Quite Hot), and that furthermore, Lee and Sam should bloody well console one another for their loss. 'Cause I mean, damn. Talk about a "KISS HIM, ya big lug!" moment there.

Sniff.

"so there's going to be angsty man sex between those two now, right?"
Oh gods no. I was totally thinking that. LET ME HAVE MY FANTASIES DAMN YOU RON MOORE!

Oh, was definitely shouting something along the lines of "Kiss him, you big lug" each time they had a scene together tonight. I detected some eye sex going on as Lee picked Sam up off the floor after he fell.

Romo is a very interesting character...especially with the whole pickpocket thing. It'll be very interesting to watch him over the next few eps..I have no ideas where his loyalties (if he has them) lie.

Oh, I don't. I think they'd be very quiet and inconspicuous, and we'd have (or maybe have been having) weeks of buildup and subtle hinting.

My reaction: Oh, Lee. Because, see, he doesn't get to grieve. He has to be the CAG. He has to get Sam down from on top of the Vipers. She wasn't his wife, after all. Usually he'd be able to lean on Dee just a little, but, well.

Poor guy. You can see him keeping it together with psychological duct tape and twine.

Complete with the same accent!

Hmmm, that's debatable. Badger was definitely a Cockney (the actor is from London, we checked, though we didn't discover which part). This lawyer guy - there are vowels in there that are a long way from Cockney. It sounded like he was trying to do an Irish accent that wasn't coming off in places. Very odd mix.

More filler? Oi!

Dish Network lost our service for two days and we missed our usual slot for recording BSG. I was hoping the filler episodes were done.

Another interesting tidbit - Katee Sackhoff wasn't listed in the opening credits this episode. Which is either a really good sign Starbuck's out for good, or they're trying damn hard to give that impression.
