New Battlestar and Dresden Files on Sunday!

I've seen this all over my Friends list this week already, but nevertheless, YAY Dresden Files this weekend! Please oh please oh please, TV gods, don't let the Dresden Files suck. I will be most put out if the Skiffy Channel does not do our Harry justice!

Also, as a general PSA to the Battlestar fans on my Friends list, don't forget that BSG now lives on Sunday nights and will follow Harry, so we all have to adjust our schedules accordingly. Note to Self: must also go back and watch "Unfinished Business", since I never did get caught up on that episode. I hear tell I missed quite a bit.

Work-wise, the week's been entirely strange. I did actually make it in to work on Tuesday despite the exciting weather, though there were some souls who didn't. And then we all stayed up until oh-god-no-thirty Tuesday night to try to finish up the Vampire Project That Would Not Die--we did actually push it live, though it had some problems still. I wound up falling into bed when I usually get up, which roused solarbird to remark that that was entirely Stupid. I agreed. And then promptly slept until noon, stumbled off to catch the bus and missed it, and so grumpily went over to Lake Forest Park Town Center to snag a bite to eat before catching the next one. I made it to work by 2:30, and pretty much hung out for an hour until I had to turn right around again and go to the dentist to have the appointment that I'd had to cancel over and over and over. My lead-type actually offered me a day off, but I had to regretfully turn it down since there's just too much to do. The Vampire Project keeps turning up things that went wrong in the deployment, all of which need addressing. And we've got newer projects about to ramp up, too.

But at least this weekend there will be new Battlestar. And Harry. Please oh please oh please don't let the Dresden Files suck!

Alas, I have no cable, so I pay for my BSG episodes . . . I buy them off of iTunes and watch them whenever I want! :-) I still haven't caught up on this season yet though!

Yeah, I noticed you'd been posting about watching BSG, woot! Glad to hear you're digging it. :D And let's hear it for ability to purchase your own copies of episodes, yeah. I haven't tried to do that myself yet, but I think it's cool that the ability to do so is out there.

The Skiffy Channel's batting average is not good--I mean, the words "Sci-Fi Pictures Original" are enough to make me cringe, after seeing some of the examples of movies they offer up with those words attached to them. ;)

On the other hand, they also have BSG, so hopefully we'll get lucky here!

Why did they move our beloved BSG to Sundays of all days? Now I can't just watch before I hand the tape to co-worker who doesn't have cable/satelite. Don't they know they are going to have almost no viewership during the Superbowl?!? (Wait! I got it! The Galatica lands in Miami, during the Superbowl! Brilliant!)

Hope all these shows are decent.

Oh, had a thought on BSG (Possible Spoiler thought?!?):
One of the two are supposed to find Earth by season's end. Did BSG get started with a guaranteed 5 season arc like Bab 5?
Will we be lamenting the loss of our Starbuck, Apollo, Boomer, and Roslin in 2010?

I am totally unversed on the details of how the BSG audience views the show, but certainly the Tivo factor is there--I could see a lot of BSG fans setting the Tivos to pull down the show while they're watching the game. And that's actually assuming that BSG fans are also interested in the Super Bowl--we may or may not watch it here at the Murk. I only watched it last year because the Seahawks were playing. ;)

But then, that also presupposes that BSG will air a new episode Super Bowl Weekend, too. We'll see!

I am unaware of a specific number of planned seasons for the show, or of any actual plans for when Earth is supposed to be found. So we'll just have to see what happens there.

You're very welcome! It kind of took me by surprise too, but I guess they're anxious to get viewers to watch the Dresden Files, and they didn't want to slate it in on Fridays. Hopefully BSG's viewer count won't take too much of a hit with the move.

*snickers!* This one's definitely been a vampire, sucking the life out of everybody working on it. ;) But yes, you have it otherwise exactly right!

I'm going to try to catch Dresden Files tomorrow night, too. I've only read the first book, but I enjoyed it. Hopefully the show will live up!

I'm a little worried about that! I mean, on the one hand, the Sci-Fi channel has a long and checkered history of these words that can strike terror into the heart: "Sci-Fi Pictures Original". ;)

On the other hand, they also have Battlestar Galactica, so hey!
