Christmas comes to the Murk at last

So today, finally, we had our belated Christmas Gift Exchange at the Murkworks! mamishka came over and fun was had by all as we traded l00t and then introduced Mimi to the Wii. I got way less writing done than I should have, but hey, it's the tail end of our holiday, so that's okay!

And here is my Loot Report:

• Arms of the Sea, Heather Alexander's shiny new CD full of sea shanties
  
  
• Across the Water by the Irish Descendants, therefore adding to the presence of Newfoundlander music on my iPod!
  
  
• A pretty nifty little Sudoku game that runs on my handheld in Pocket Windows
  
  
• Another quite nifty word game, Bookworm Adventures, which amused me because I recognized it as one of the many games also carried in the RealArcade catalogue. Then I actually started playing it, and it turned out to even more amusing if you're writing a novel based on Greek mythology, because it's chock full of Greek mythic monsters. I giggled and squeed, "THREE HEADED DOGGIE!" when it threw Cerberus at me.
  
  
• An Invader Zim T-shirt proclaiming "YOU SPEAK CRAZINESS!" This should be a delightful shirt to wear at meetings, I figure. And oh yeah, on the Zim theme, I also got a couple of Zim pens.
  
  
• An absolutely, positively adorable tiny Chewbacca keyring. It's literally a Chibi Chewbacca. I just imagine him squeaking "graar!"

It turned out to be longer than I thought! I only finished Book 1 tonight, it seems; there's much more to go. spazzkat and solarbird wound up playing it with me over my shoulder as well. ^_^

Ooo, I like that Bookworm Adventures!!! I've played regular Bookworm, but not Adventures.

It's fun! I almost finished the main mode last night, but Medusa trounced me. Clearly I need to throw longer words at this thing. ;)

The Greek mythology bits all over it I think were what amused me the most; I kept going "I looked that monster up on Wikipedia, and that one, and that one..." Hephaestus actually shows up at one point as well, but I forgot to check whether his feet were backwards!

The noises it makes are cute, too. ^_^
