Five Years Later
Sep. 11th, 2006 09:38 amI wrote this before I had a Livejournal, and only later ported it into my backdated posts. Five years after the fact, I don't have much to add to it, at least nothing that I think would serve any real, constructive purpose.
Instead, I'd rather call attention to this excellent post I saw linked to by
filkertom, which draws a moving parallel between Pearl Harbor and the 9/11 events. And this one linked to by
seimaisin, which urges us to try to reclaim the day by doing a physical, tangible act of goodness in the world. I think that's an excellent idea, myself.
And I'll say this, as I raise my glass-- we remember the Twin Towers and those who were within. United Flight 93 and Thomas Burnett, we remember you. American Airlines Flights 11 and 77, we remember you. United Airlines Flight 175, we remember you.
We remember.
