Another ride call for solarbird

Apologies for the short notice, but Dara's having some distressing pain in her neck and shoulder that we need to get looked at, so she's waiting to hear back on an appointment for TODAY with the doctor who's on call for her usual regular doc. I'm at work. Is anyone available to give Dara a ride to her appointment today? I'll get more data out as to time as soon as we have it.

Conveyed from Dara on the MurkMUSH: she now has an appointment with Dr. Gregory John at the Polyclinic at 1:10pm. She needs to be there around 1ish so that she can go through the co-pay/insurance line at the clinic.

Heh, I was dialing your cell LITERALLY as this comment came in. I just cancelled Dara's PT appointment--she's in too severe a level of pain to even think about that this afternoon. So you're off the hook for that.

The doctor's put her onto Valium and a non-narcotic painkiller to see if we can get that pain under control, and I'm also going to be having a word with the PT people to find out if anything they had her do on Wednesday might have set this off, since this is about when it all started.

Seems as though she is making remarkable strides in recovery, and I am so relieved.
I hope you both have a wonderful weekend. I know the recovery will be long and slow, but the progress is amazing.

If we can get this issue with Dara's shoulder pain dealt with, that'll help us actually have a wonderful weekend! I'm very much looking forward to seeing Great Big Sea at Bumbershoot on Sunday night, but before I can do that, I'll need my solarbird not in pain anymore. :}

She has been impressing people with the swiftness of her recovery in general, though. Apparently the people at the PT place she went to on Wednesday were all "how old are you, 19? Geez, you've crammed weeks of recovery time into four days!"

that alone could explain the pain. for me, delayed onset muscle soreness is often the worst on the second day (i.e. on a friday after doing Something on a wednesday). good luck with getting to the bottom of it.

*hugs!* I just got an update from kathrynt; Dara's been sent home with Valium and a non-narcotic painkiller to take the edge off her pain, since the doctor was unwilling to x-ray her or even move her arm around much with the level of pain she's in. He is also supposed to call us this evening with a followup.

I've also just cancelled Dara's PT appointment for today, and asked the guy who did the cancellation for me to please have the person who worked with her on Wednesday call me back. I'm strongly suspecting something they might have done on Wednesday set this off, but I'm not sure yet what it might have been.
