Dara update posts unlocked

Most of you have seen these posts already, but for those of you out there who might have my journal Friended and who I haven't yet Friended in return, please know that over the weekend my partner Dara was in a bike accident. The first two update posts are here and here.

This morning I will be paying the bills I need to get into the mail, drying laundry so that I will actually be decently clad for spending another day in the hospital, and other little nitpicky things like that before spazzkat and I return to the hospital. Our boss has been informed of the situation and assures me that I should not worry about work right now. I will make a big point of keeping her as well as my immediate lead in the loop so that they'll be on top of things and can work with me later this week to get me set up to work from home.

All hail mamishka for her wise council about taking valerian before going to bed. I actually had some and it was still viable, so between that and the ibuprofen, my screamer of a headache got somewhat dealt with. Paul has also wisely noted that I'd better drink a lot more water at the hospital today. I may also have to bring some Gatorade.

flowers and such are not allowed where Dara is right now. Hopefully she won't be in that location much longer, though.

They won't let us have personal items in the ICU right now, but we'll see what happens when she's moved to a general room--and I don't know how long she'll be in one of those. But I'm sure that she'd deeply appreciate any flowers or balloons that show up at MurkNorth for when she comes home.

Sorry there's not much else I can do, apart from hoping and praying that Dara and yourself get through this OK - and that you're not subjected to any other medical nastiness! Seems to me like you've had more than enough.

Hopes and prayers are good. We have people on three different continents sending good energies our way, and I figure if this keeps up, Dara should be glowing by the end of the week.

And yes, I am quite, QUITE tired of seeing hospitals now, kthxbye.

"Out of the ICU" would be ideal, but we can work with "stable" until then, yeah. And I'm off to bed soon, to hug the large stuffed alligator brought me by the wonderful mamishka. Keep those good thoughts coming!

Just got in from duty and read your updates, and I'm glad that Dara's in there. Concussions can be tricky things. If there's anything I can do to help, let me know! *snugs* Take some time for yourself...gather your wits and take a deep breath. She's in good hands and it won't do her any good if you worry yourself to death! I'm so happy that you've got the Murkworks around there for you...that makes things so much better. 8)

We do continue to be the coolest fucking house on the west coast.

Tonight I played my guitar. That helped a great deal. And I'm about to get some sleep, and I will return to the hospital tomorrow, and Dara Will Continue To Get Better. Period. *snugs a bunch* Keep those good thoughts coming. I've already told Dara, even though she was sleeping, that you were asking after her. I'll do so again when she is awake and aware.
