Did I miss anything?

I was out sick yesterday, thanks to what felt like the beginnings of a sore throat on Monday night--or at least, I think it was the beginnings of a sore throat. It was either that, or else I got severely dehydrated on Sunday when we were all out in the sun, and it caught up with me by then.
Bad timing, too.
solarbird and I had gone down to the Third Place Commons in Lake Forest Park to listen to Lewis Black (the comedian) give a little talk to promote his new book, Nothing is Sacred. We thought he was going to do a reading, but it turned out that he felt like reading from a non-fiction work was silly, so he just talked a bit and then took questions from the audience. It was kind of stunning--he was amazingly laid back and cordial in comparison to his usual demeanor when he's doing his act or his bits on the Daily Show. I liked the cracks he made about demanding to know where the First Place Commons was and why he didn't get to be there, and how he'd always wanted to do a gig in a food court. And he had some amusing things to say about the Pacific Northwest being just Too Damned Healthy with all our mountain biking and hiking and suchlike, as well as how we should all be warned that we will soon be living in Starbucks branches and how our homes will be remodeled and we'll be assigned baristas. ;)
During all that, though, I started getting hit with the sore throat, which distracted me from the Funny. Sigh. So yesterday I took my first sick day from the Times and pretty much blew the whole day reading old roleplay logs and even wandering by Star Wars MUSH to see if I recognized anybody in the WHO. Heh. This is what I get for re-reading all my old Shenner logs.
I didn't get to bed till after twelve, thanks to laying around on my backside all day leaving me too awake by evening to get to bed at a more reasonable hour. So I am a little drained this morning, though otherwise functional. Which I hope holds up all day, because I gotta write something tonight!
Did I miss anything amusing? Anybody say anything to me on my Friends list that I might have missed?
Monday miles: 3.8
Wednesday morning miles: 1.4
Miles out of Hobbiton: 1230.4
Miles out of Rivendell: 772.4
Miles out of Lothlórien: 310.4
Miles to Rauros Falls: 78.6
Bad timing, too.
