Happy birthday, Harrison Ford!

Even if he has been surplanted in my affections by that upstart Mr. Crowe, Mr. Ford does retain a special place in my heart. So here's a glass raised in the honor of his 64th! And here's a big birthday wish for ysabel, as well, who shares this day with Harry! ^_^

Today in Mr. Ford's honor I shall listen to the Raiders of the Lost Ark soundtrack, which despite Mr. Crowe and his fine, fine movies does remain my very favorite movie soundtrack, and to which I have not listened in far too long. In fact, temptation is rising to actually watch Raiders this weekend!

Meanwhile, y'all say hi to tiggymalvern and borntofr4g, now listening in. And remind me not to start the count-up of days without a rejection letter, folks, until I actually get the manuscript acknowledgement postcards back from Bantam, 'k? ;)

In a short while I shall scamper over to the Polyclinic to talk to my endoc and see whether or not I get to tweak my Synthroid dosage again. This is mostly worth mentioning because I can walk over there from the Times building, which pleases me greatly. I'm really grooving on this as a work location, and really, grooving on the job in general. Job satisfaction. I like it!

Yay all around! ^_^

My only beef with my work locale is that the selection of lunch-y places right nearby is kind of slim. There's not even a Starbucks within immediate range, which is pretty stunning given that I work in downtown Seattle! I did find one up the hill a bit when I went to mail the partial for Lament, but it's several blocks away and up that hill. And there are a few closer to where spazzkat and I catch the bus.

(Though really, it's probably for the best that there isn't a Starbucks within immediate range since I have to keep out of there except on the weekends, when I am allowed a tasty frappucino.)

And I do love, love, love me some Indiana Jones. Raiders of the Lost Ark is perfect from start to finish, in every single frame and every single note of the soundtrack! <3 (As I am being reminded, just listening to it on my iPod!)

my wallet and my waist hate hate hate my work worthy coffee location. its funny. seattle sounds like such an exciting place.

Seattle's pretty groovy, yeah, and I even tend to see only a fraction of it since I'm such a stay-at-home type who spends most of her time playing with her computer. :)

But I was just telling spazzkat on the way into work earlier this week that we do have such a great, vibrant downtown. The sidewalks are always full of people, and I have frequently heard street musicians playing. It's such a nice change from downtowns in prior places I have lived, like, say, Lexington in Kentucky, where the downtown was really run-down and almost abandoned.

winston-salem and greensboro have both made real efforts in revitalizing their respective downtowns. i love to go to the free music gatherings. i havent been as much as i would like though.
