With all the times I have been perturbed at seeing the name "Russell Crowe" misspelled (Rusell and Russel being the two most common variations, hell, the man seems to have his name misspelled almost as often as I do), you'd think I would have caught that I'd misspelled said name as "Russsell Crowe" in the tags on one of my very own posts. I mean, damn. Russell fangirl and a writer. Oi! No excuse. None! *^_^*

(Er, okay, well, I did catch it. I mean, you'd think I would have caught it sooner. That post has been up since May! *^_^*)

Bah, I think it's a permissible mistake. It's not like you misspelled it out of ignorance, it was just one of those things where your finger spasms and hits the letter one too many times. It doesn't count! :-)

Names I usually try to spell correctly because I know all about the misspelled name. Since I've been using Rebekah for school and work related items, there have been too many times where I've had to correct someone else when that person incorrectly spells it, which is rather often. I started this about 6th grade (for school, since there were so many other Becky names out there, I figured I'd make it a little easier on my teachers).

Yeah--and I'm sure Sarah's had that issue too, with Sara vs. Sarah and such. And Marc vs. Mark. And Donnie vs. Donny. Spelling issues abound in our family! ;)
