First and foremost, welcome to another new person reading! Hiya, [livejournal.com profile] liadra! And also, big ol' happy birthday wishes go out to [livejournal.com profile] jessicac!

I mailed off Lament of the Dove's partial yesterday, which was all eep-inducing. :) I've gotten somewhat more blase in general about sending off manuscripts, which I think is going to happen to any writer if she keeps at this for a while--but there's still something about sending a book out for the very first time. Especially if it's one you've been working on for three years! And it's nice to know that there's a post office within easy walking distance of my shiny new workplace, in case I have to walk up there again any time soon to mail off a full manuscript to Bantam (fingers crossed).

[livejournal.com profile] solarbird and I went over to [livejournal.com profile] kathrynt and [livejournal.com profile] llachglin's house last night in search of their wily missing feline, but alas, Ash was not yet to be found. We think he may still be hiding in the garage, and Kathryn tells us that if he's in there, it would be totally like him to hide there until he's sure it's safe to come out, not making a peep the entire time. So we left him some new food and a freshened litter box, and tonight I'll head back over there to find out whether either shows sign of kitty attention.

Today my team took me out to lunch at one of the few places in immediate walking distance--an Indian restaurant. The food was not terribly impressive, but then, my bar is set very high thanks to Cedars and Tandoori over in the U-district. But the company was pleasant and it was nice to have another chance to get to know the folks on the team.

And I get to hoof it over to the Polyclinic after work today to stop by their lab and let 'em do the check on my thyroid levels. I need to do it today, since tomorrow night there will be a gathering of PIRATES! Gods, I hope this movie follows through on the promise of its trailer. ;D And if the review from my standard favorite local reviewer is any sign, we'll get some great popcorn movie fun out of this tomorrow night!

Yea, I have it set, but I also have it set not to display... so I guess it doesn't auto-notify people if I do that.
