Hey Anna, this is unrelated but I was wondering if you guys know anyone who does DNS hosting that might be willing to do me a huge favor? I need a secondary for pointing 128.95.76.225 -> www.probcast.com, since my sister has taken her machine down for the week. Maybe Regis? Does she do hosting?

Regis might be a good candidate, yeah. If not her, then perhaps Vicka. Both of them have their own domains, and Vicka and Dara and I trade off on DNS stuff almost as much as Kathryn and Dara and I do. :)

*grins!* Oh, it's still lingering way in the back of my brain, that's for sure. Every single RP scene I've ever had washing F'hlan's dragon roared into my brain reading naominovik's His Majesty's Dragon! ;)

And if I keep up this trend of sticking old MUSH alts of mine into novels, Mehlani's eventually going to make an appearance. Whee!

Read His Majesty's Dragon, and tell me if it really doesn't remind you of Weyr RP. Especially the dragonwashing. Look for the bits where Laurence is training with Temeraire. ;)

That's cool that PernMUSH lingers on in books. I'm 3 of 3 holds now. I look forward to reading about Mehlani eventually. :)

Mind you, there's also a lot in His Majesty's Dragon that is entirely its own thing, and in many ways I actually like the setting a lot better than Pern--in no small part because the dragons show great promise of being People in their own right and not just particularly clever winged mounts.

But the dragonwashing bits? Totally Pern-esque. ;)

As for Mehlani, she's definitely one of my characters whose story I feel I was never able to properly tell--which is what has been driving me to stick old MUSH alts of mine into books to begin with. I'm not sure what I'd be able to do with her, since she'd require a lot of alteration to fit into a story of my own. My muse has not yet presented me with any possibilities. But we'll see!
