In case you haven't heard yet, this is why LJ has been acting up tonight:

Guh. I was wondering if something like this was going on.

Good grief, this is the first time I've been able to access LJ since I came home at 4:30p today!!!!!

Yeah, I saw it start acting up from work--and then it came back for a while after. Then I left for home, and by the time I got home it was down again. spazzkat had beaten me home and he hadn't been able to get to LJ either.

Since I couldn't get to the status site from work either, I was really rather wondering what was happening and if it was something like this. Since the status site is as far as I know a separate server, I figured that anything that would be affecting it as well as LJ's main servers was probably something nasty. Guh.

Here's hoping the network crew can repel the broadsides. Bah. Where's a 36-gun frigate when you need her?

Good icon. The text about sums it up. I wouldn't bother hacking the perp's computer... I would simply walk up, throw him through the nearest window, and throw the computer after, in irreparable pieces.

Yeah, I don't get to break that one out often, but it seemed appropriate tonight. Grr.

And I feel for the network staffers at Six Apart and LJ, they are doubtless putting in long hours tonight. :(

You're welcome! And heh, I expect a lot of people had their posting plans disrupted last night. I feel for the network staff, I'm sure they put in a lot of extra hours.

I first noticed things acting up from work yesterday afternoon--I figured it was our internal network here being wonky. But then I got home and heard from spazzkat that LJ wasn't working from our home network either!

Things seem to be more stable today, so hopefully the network staff at Six Apart and LJ have gotten the problem under control. I feel for 'em, they must have put in a lot of extra hours last night!
