More GBS goodness
Mar. 7th, 2006 01:22 pmI have to admit that I am really grooving on how the new admins at greatbigsea.com have gotten on the ball adding new content to encourage people to come back regularly to the site! There are tour reviews from fans getting posted (mine is on the Seattle show link, as I gushed about before!) as well as tour photos from fans!
I just found something else neat today, though: this report from the Calgary winner of the Kitchen Party of Your Dreams contest, about what happened when the B'ys showed up at her house. There are pictures. The second one, of her and Alan and Bob and Séan, is particularly cute. That's a glorious smile Alan's got on his face. ^_^
I wonder if the envy waves coming out of Seattle right now are palpable outside the Pacific Northwest? ;)
Anyway, the site's been so neat lately that I emailed the admins thanking them for being so cool to the fans and posting submitted material. I've also asked them if they've considered making an RSS feed for Alan's From the Road posts, since they're essentially a commentless blog. It'd be neat to have an LJ feed for that!

Date: 2006-03-07 10:04 pm (UTC)And I hear you about the envy waves. Especially since the Kitchen Party report was from the one that was on my birthday ;) Love the shot of the whole group, with Séan sitting on her counter. Dork!
I've tried to check the site once a day, as the content is always being updated. It's been really nice how they're keeping it up. And yay on the new contest! Entered that one m'self.

Date: 2006-03-07 10:48 pm (UTC)*high fives on contest* Good luck! Three days would be barely enough time for me to see Newfoundland, I think--but I can't pass up the shot. :D

Date: 2006-03-07 11:22 pm (UTC)The timing of it amuses me, as my best friend is planning her own trip up there for either June or July. I've been sitting on my jealousy about that ever since she told me :)

Date: 2006-03-07 11:30 pm (UTC)What I'd really want to do would be to hear some live music. I mean, if you're in St. John's, you really HAVE to find some live music, right? ^_^

Date: 2006-03-08 12:05 am (UTC)My butt would be planted in a pub every single night, checking out the music. I'd go just for the music over anything else. The rest of the stuff would be gravy :D
