This is mostly for Seattle-area locals, as I attempt to gather some data about the reinstatement of Murkworks jamming sessions! It's not limited to Seattle-area locals, though, since I know at least one of you fine folks out there (HI

fredpdx!) would be coming up here from Portland. So if you're in the Portland-ish neck of the woods, or Vancouver BC-ish for that matter, and you feel moved to offer some data on these questions, by all means feel free!

"Voice" counts as an instrument, and we've had people show up just for the fun of hanging out and listening at prior Jams, too. :) And if you make pie? All the better!

Monica, who is not on LJ but who is a former and hopefully soon to be reinstated jammer, has dairy issues. We have no nut allergies in the Murk proper, though

solarbird just doesn't like nuts, so that should be noted as well.

Is it going to be an issue if they're present in the house, or just on your plate? Some folks have different levels of allergies.... if bringing one apple and one pecan is a Bad Idea, just say so, and we can have a nut-free environment...

except for the ones playing instruments! :)

In the same house should be okay. Just so long as there isn't a lot of cross-contamination between the two. :) I think the oil is, specifically, the part I'm most allergic to. And I have only verified allergy to walnuts, but pecans scare me because of the similarities. Plus, I've started to develop a bit of a sensitivity to a couple other tree nuts over the years, so I just don't want to take the chance. :) Specifically, my allergy/sensitivity manifests as ulcers in the mouth, and as it has worsened, has begun to involve my throat a bit, causing swelling/itching/etc. But I'm okay as long as I don't ingest them, generally.

I'm so into this idea! I've been desperately craving music in my life again!

Couple of comments/corrections to my poll answers... I could do as often as every week or two, possibly, depending on gas prices and stuff/whether Fred wants to carpool. There's no way I could do late evenings unless someone else were driving me home, so that I could get some sleep on the way, since I have church on Sunday mornings. And there's no way I can do Sundays, due to that church thing, unless, perhaps, we don't start until at least 3 or 4pm.

Just for general reference, Dara and I are not prepared to do this every week--if nothing else just to take our own schedules into consideration. And given all the writing I need to do, I can't spare a whole day out of my major block of writing time every weekend anyway. So the most often it would be would be two weeks, regardless. Every three weeks or monthly are more likely options at this point.

As for car pooling with Fred, you'll have to take that up with him, though I note that he had also mentioned to me that he likely couldn't come up here more often than monthly anyway due to his own schedule obligations.
