First and foremost, a big ol' HAPPY BIRTHDAY goes out to [livejournal.com profile] ravyngyngvar! ^_^

Now then. Last night had less writing than I would have liked, but that was okay, since I put the evening to good use. Used that shiny new USB hard drive that [livejournal.com profile] solarbird bought to make myself a backup of my laptop, which I hadn't done in quite some time. Which now probably means of course that my computer is assured to remain functional for the next twenty years. It's only when one doesn't have a current backup that things seem to explode, doncha know.

And I renewed my annathepiper.org domain, since it was up for that again. And I registered for Writer's Weekend finally. Anybody on my Friends list going and wants to talk rooming arrangements, let me know? To go with the registration I put a check in the mail this morning. [livejournal.com profile] writersweekend, it's headed your way.

And, since we didn't have a new episode of Lost last night, instead we finally watched last week's episode of Battlestar, "The Captain's Hand". Picoreview: OH MY. More on this in another post.

And I finished up Heat Stroke on my way into work, and in short: see previous picoreview. That was exciting. More on this in another post, too. And since when I bought that book at Border's they gave me a coupon for 30% off a purchase between the 23rd and the 26th, I may have to get Book 3 on my way home.

Last but not least, we have potentially entertaining weather brewing today. It was very windy on my way in, and Dara reports that it's getting dark in Kenmore. There are rumors of snow, but as always, I'll believe it when I see the flakes falling.

Glad you mentioned that 30% Borders coupon. I have two of those in my wallet. I was planning on making a trip out at lunch anyway so maybe I'll have to swing into the Borders downtown and pick up something new. Not that I "need" a new book but I want one anyway.

I am still on the fence about coming to Seattle ... back and forth, trying to figure the post-TC budget. So, if I do figure that I have the cash and you're still roommate-less, I'll holler!

I'm definitely coming to Seattle. Dan had planned to come with me, but now it turns out that a prior commitment of his falls on the same weekend. So I'm roommateless. No odious habits. As far as I know, I'm hypoallergenic, too.

Thank you, thank you. I'm sorry that I didn't check in on your LiveJournal yesterday, but I've noticed that emails from you keep trickling in. I'll answer them eventually, but I think I'll wait a little to see if there are any more coming first.

I had dinner with my father and his girlfriend. Today, mother's gift, Stephen Hawking's "A Brief History of Time" arrived. Oops. I bought it when I visited you, but this is a hardbound, illustrated edition. Also "The Mouse That Roared" with Peter Sellers.

So now I've entered the year of life, the universe and everything.
