Gusty Thursday morning
Feb. 23rd, 2006 10:02 amFirst and foremost, a big ol' HAPPY BIRTHDAY goes out to
ravyngyngvar! ^_^
Now then. Last night had less writing than I would have liked, but that was okay, since I put the evening to good use. Used that shiny new USB hard drive that
solarbird bought to make myself a backup of my laptop, which I hadn't done in quite some time. Which now probably means of course that my computer is assured to remain functional for the next twenty years. It's only when one doesn't have a current backup that things seem to explode, doncha know.
And I renewed my annathepiper.org domain, since it was up for that again. And I registered for Writer's Weekend finally. Anybody on my Friends list going and wants to talk rooming arrangements, let me know? To go with the registration I put a check in the mail this morning.
writersweekend, it's headed your way.
And, since we didn't have a new episode of Lost last night, instead we finally watched last week's episode of Battlestar, "The Captain's Hand". Picoreview: OH MY. More on this in another post.
And I finished up Heat Stroke on my way into work, and in short: see previous picoreview. That was exciting. More on this in another post, too. And since when I bought that book at Border's they gave me a coupon for 30% off a purchase between the 23rd and the 26th, I may have to get Book 3 on my way home.
Last but not least, we have potentially entertaining weather brewing today. It was very windy on my way in, and Dara reports that it's getting dark in Kenmore. There are rumors of snow, but as always, I'll believe it when I see the flakes falling.
Wednesday evening miles: 2.4
Thursday morning miles: 1.6
Miles out of Hobbiton: 726
Miles out of Rivendell: 268
Miles to Lothlórien: 196

Date: 2006-02-25 12:20 am (UTC)I had dinner with my father and his girlfriend. Today, mother's gift, Stephen Hawking's "A Brief History of Time" arrived. Oops. I bought it when I visited you, but this is a hardbound, illustrated edition. Also "The Mouse That Roared" with Peter Sellers.
So now I've entered the year of life, the universe and everything.

Oops about the gift mixup! But hardbound and illustrated is pretty cool. :) And yay, dinner!
